The course EDT300 has taught me so much. I have learned how to navigate thru the entire Microsoft 2007. I have learned to create word documents and insert them somewhere else. I have learned how to create a grade book. I have learned how to create power points and brochures and so much more. It has been awesome. I was extremely nervous about this class because I had limited knowledge of this stuff. I really only checked email and wrote papers for class using Word 2003. Now, I feel confident and know that even if I am not sure how to do it I can navigate around the program until I figure it out.
Along the way of learning how to use these things, I learned ways to actually use my skills when I become a teacher. Before now, I had no plans of using a lot of technology in the classroom; but I now realize how important technology is in the classroom. It makes learning fun, easier, and more advanced. Technology opens the door to so many resources. Also, if you teach the students how to use technology, it prepares them for the world.
Using technology in the classroon can have advantages and disadvantages. You have to be at a school that is financially able and willing to spend the money on technology. It will take some extra time on the teacher's part to prepare some of the projects. Every student will not have the same access to technology at home. One great thing is it gets kids excited about learning. It gives the teacher different options for appealing to every learning style. Also, it is more organized. Technology is great for the classroom.

Learning to Use Google for profesional purposes
Google is a wonderful tool even if we use it conventionaly.
But Google not only offer us standard options, it comes with a buch of option that can make our use of it more complete and profesional. for example we can eliminate results that are not related with our topic, or look only into colleges webs..to name only a few of them.
In the last two classes we have had to post our homework on a pbwiki page. That has been fun because you can see what everyone else is doing. The only thing I do not like about the pbwiki page is that people can change your work. It would be fun to use something like a pbwiki page for a group assignment in my own classroom. I think the students would enjoy seeing each others work, and I could check their work a lot easier.

Microsoft Publisher/Christina Pinson
The hardest part of using Microsoft Publisher for me was trying to figure out what information to use. The templates are great, and they make it easy to design anything for a brochure to an invitation. I also had a little trouble navigating through the Publisher program.
Using publisher in the classroom would be great. It is a great tool to use for projects. Also I can create flyers and newsletters to send home to students to keep them updated on current events. I could create thank you card for parent volunteers. There are many options for the classroom. I am excited to learn more.

Creating Blogs
I have never created a blog before. Thankfully, it was not that difficult. I think it would be to difficult for most elementary age students to use a blog. If we did use blogging, I would have one account that everyone would post to some time in class. However, I would enjoy using it to communicate with other teachers. I could get advice and ideas.
